The Pakistan Army is the land wing of the Pakistan Armed Forces and is responsible for guarding Pakistan's borders, assisting civil authorities in emergencies, and participating in international peace operations. Here is an overview of the Pakistan Army and its pay structure: 

 1. Structure of the Pakistan Army Leadership:

 The Pakistan Army is headed by a Chief of General Staff (COAS), who is usually a four-star general. As per the latest update, the current COAS is General Asim Munir. 

Operational Command: 

The Army is divided into various corps, each responsible for a different region or special mission. This includes infantry, tanks, artillery, engineer corps, air defence etc. 

Training Institutions: 

The main training institutes include the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) in Kakul where officers are trained, and various colleges and universities in different branches. 

Special Forces: 

 Pakistan Army has  elite Special Forces (SSG) units known for conducting special operations, counter terrorism and unconventional warfare.

 2. Rank Structure and Promotions Pakistani Army follows a structured hierarchy and the ranks include: 

Non-Commissioned Officers:

3. Salary Structure:

Pakistani Army salary varies based on rank, length of service and additional allowances. 

Here is a general idea of the salary structure: - 

Lieutenant: 

The entry level officer rank, basic salary excluding allowances is around 30,000-45,000 PKR  per month. 

Lieutenant:

 Around 45,000-55,000 PKR  per month. 

Captain:

 Around 50,000-70,000 PKR  per month.  

Major: 

Approximately  60,000 to 90,000 PKR  per month. 

Lieutenant Colonel:

 Approximately  80,000 to 120,000 PKR  per month. 

Colonel: 

Approximately  100,000 to 150,000 PKR  per month. 

Brigadier General:

 Approximately  130,000 to 180,000 PKR  per month. 

Major General and above: 

Salaries range from 180,000 PKR  to over 300,000 PKR  per month. 

 4. Allowances and Benefits  In addition to the basic salary, officers and soldiers receive various allowances such as:  

Rental Allowance: 

Varies depending on  location.  

Medical Allowance:

 Medical expenses are free for police officers and their families.  

 Travel Allowance: 

In case of business trips. 

Field Allowance: 

Additional fee for use in the operational area. 

Special Payments:

 In case of service in difficult or hostile environments.

5. Retirement Benefits:

After discharge, service members are entitled to pensions, severance pay, and other post-retirement benefits.
