The  Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Corps (EME) of the Pakistan Army is responsible for the maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment of the Army. To become an EME officer, candidates must meet certain eligibility criteria and go through a selection process. 

The criteria are outlined below: 

Eligibility Criteria for EME Officers :

1. Nationality:

Must be a Pakistani national or a permanent resident of Azad Kashmir/Gilgit-Baltistan. 

2. Gender:

 Both men and women are welcome to apply.

 3. Age:

 Generally, the age limit for general positions is 17 to 21 years old, and for higher education positions such as bachelor's degrees, it is 17 to 23 years old. However, the exact age limit may vary, so it is important to check the latest requirements. 

4. Educational Qualifications:

F.S.C Pre-Engineering or equivalent level:

 Candidates must have at least 60%  in FSc (Pre-Engineering) or equivalent level. 

O-Level and A-Level Students:

 O-Level students must have completed 8 subjects including English, Mathematics and Physics. A-Level students must have passed 3 subjects including Physics and Mathematics. 

Bachelor's Degree:

 Applicants with a Bachelor's Degree should typically have a relevant engineering discipline (Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, etc.). 

5. Physical Requirements Height:

 Minimum height is normally 5'4" (162.5 cm) for men and 5' (152.4 cm) for women. 

Weight:

 Weight should be as per Pakistan Army Body Mass Index (BMI) standards. 

6. Marital Status:

Applicants should be unmarried at the time of application.

 Selection Process:

 1. Preliminary Exam Written/Intelligence Test:

 Covers general knowledge, English, Mathematics and Intelligence.  

Medical Examination:

 Conducted to ensure that candidates meet the health and fitness standards. 

Physical Fitness Test:

 Includes running, push-ups, sit-ups and other physical activities.

 2. ISSB (Inter-Services Selection Board):

 Candidates who pass the preliminary exam are given a series of tests and interviews at the ISSB, including psychological tests, group tasks and personal interviews.  

3. Final Selection:

 Candidates will be selected for training based on their performance in  ISSB, medical examination, and overall performance.

 4. Training:

Selected candidates will undergo rigorous military and technical training at  Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul and Specialized Technical Institutions. 

 Additional Requirements Security Clearance:

 Candidates must pass a thorough background check and security clearance.  

Commitment:

 Selected candidates may be required to sign a commitment to serve in the Pakistan Army for a specified period after completion of training.
