 Pakistan Army offers  Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) for professionals in various fields. General criteria and requirements are as follows:

 General Requirements Nationality: 

Pakistani nationals including residents of Azad Kashmir/Gilgit-Baltistan. 

 Marital Status:

 Varies by branch (e.g. candidates for some posts may be unmarried).

   Gender:

 Depending on the branch and role, both male and female candidates are eligible to apply.  

 Age Limit: 

Usually 21 to 35 years but may vary depending on the  role. Training Qualifications Medical Corps (GDMO, Specialist): 

MBBS/BDS (certified by PM&DC). FCPS or equivalent for Specialists. Often required to complete housekeeping. 

Education Corps:

 Master's/Master's/PhD in relevant subject. Minimum grade point average/percentage as stated in the advertisement.

 Corps of Engineers: 

Bachelor's/BS degree in relevant engineering field (recognized by PEC). Minimum grade point average/percentage as stated in  advertisement. 

Corps of Information Technology (IT):

 Master's/MCS/BS in IT/Computer Science. Related certificates may be preferred. Physical Criteria Size: Males: At least 5 feet 4 inches (162.5 cm). Women: At least 5 feet (152.4 cm). Weight: As per  Body Mass Index (BMI) norms. Selection Process Initial Registration: Candidates have to register online through the official Pakistan Army recruitment website or through the Army Selection and Recruitment Centre (AS&RC). Written Test/Intelligence Test: Candidates will first appear for a written test and an intelligence test. Medical Examination: Preliminary medical examination to check physical fitness. Interview: Candidates who pass the written test and medical examination will be invited for an interview at AS&RC. 

ISSB Test: 

Selected candidates will have to appear before the Inter-Services Selection Board (ISSB) for further evaluation. 

Final Medical Examination: 

It will be conducted at a designated military hospital. Training: Selected candidates will undergo training at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) or any other designated training institute.

 Additional Requirements Security Clearance: 

Candidates will have to pass security clearance. 

Bond:
